RIVERS GOVERNORSHIP TRIBUNAL: APC and Security operatves ready to present fake witnesses - RRF says

The APC in collaboration with security agencies are in a plot to present another round of Fake witnesses at the Rivers Governorship election tribunal.

The Rivers Renaissance Forum RRF has uncovered this plot by the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC and its governorship candidate, Mr. Dakuku Peterside, to present some bribed security agents as witnesses in the ongoing election petition tribunal, where the APC is challenging the victory of Governor Nyesom Wike as the Governor of Rivers State.

In their latest desperate move aimed at truncating the course of Justice at the tribunal, the APC and its candidate have concluded plans to use some personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS), men of the Nigeria Police and some lawyers, as facilitators of the fake witnesses. In a meeting held at Royal Apartments, Area 1 extension, Garki, Abuja, on Saturday 12th September, 2015, these men gathered for a tutoring on how to bear false witness before the Lordships sitting on the matter at the election tribunal.

According to this latest plan, five Policemen, two DSS Personnel and four Lawyers of the APC were assigned with various lies to be told before the tribunal in the coming days. During the said meeting, one of the person in attendance who was not comfortable with the process, had voice recording of the plans, and this will be made public in due course to expose the evil plan against the people of Rivers State.

With this, we thus put the Nigeria Bar Association and Judicial Service Commission on notice to be vigilant and be prepared to take disciplinary actions on the lawyers involved. We believe this will restore the needed sanity within the Law profession and among  its practitioners, and also repose confidence in them as well.

This alarm becomes imperative considering the desperation of the APC to unlawfully manipulate the judicial process with the intent of hijacking the mandate freely given by the good people of Rivers State to Governor Nyesom Wike, during the last governorship election in the State.

As we have always done, we hereby call on President Muhammadu Buhari, to call the actors in the Rivers state APC to order, and prevent this latest attempt to corrupt the judicial process and manipulate the rule of law.

The people of Rivers have spoken, and we believe that the Judiciary without undue interference will serve justice to all parties in the election dispute. Any attempt therefore, to taint this legitimate process will be resisted by the good people of our dear State.

We shall not be discouraged.

Amaechi at it again - RRF

The Rivers Renaissance Forum (RRF) wishes to intimate the Nigerian public, security agencies and the people of Rivers State of the grand plan by Mr. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, the immediate former governor of Rivers, to induce and procure a Black Market injunction from the Abuja High Court sitting in Apo, under Justice Valentine Ashi.

The injuction about to be bought seeks to restrain the ongoing Judicial Commission of Inquiry sitting in Port Harcourt from further perfoming its legitimate assignment for which it has been set up to do.

Chimamanda Adichie: The Miraculous Deliverance Of Oga Jona

Now, this is just class! Chimamanda presents an admixture of sarcasm, craft, depth, all woven around the theme of constructive criticism. Oga Jona....from me to you, I say, "governance is intensive, but can be also simply straightforward" Dear Readers, I present to you...a grand slam of an article!....enjoy....

As soon as he opened his eyes, he felt it. A strange peace, a calm clarity. He stretched. Even his limbs were stronger and surer. He looked at his phone. Thirty-seven new text messages – and all while he was asleep. With one click, he deleted them. The empty screen buoyed him.

Reflective: Five (5) Lessons from #EkitiDECIDES

Sayo Aluko
It's been almost a week now, and the dust still seems settling. A shocker for a distant few, an expectation for the proximal many, the Ekiti state gubernatorial election in south-west Nigeria came, saw, and "conquered". These below are 5 major realities, lessons sort of, that I've basically tried to decipher from the election as a whole.

Rauf, Rochas, Ibikunle, NIGERIA, and Hope.

Sayo Aluko

In the course of the past three weeks, I've had to visit three Nigerian cities, Abeokuta, Owerri and Oshogbo and as my journeying drew to a close, I was able to conclude from all I saw, that, as per thriving well as a country, Nigeria has huge hopes after all.
Without emotive equivocation and over-analytic sentiments, the governors of these 3 states are actually governing.

LAGOS 2015: WHO HAS THE “HEAD”?

Sayo Aluko

The race for who succeeds Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola as the Governor of Lagos State come 2015 has entered top gear. It's already an open secret. Without any doubt, argument, and/or weightless jabs of eccentric sentiment, considering the fact that the 15-year reign at the helm of the then Alliance for Democracy (AD), then Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and now All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state has been distinctively exemplary, it shouldn't be far from sane that continuity of purpose with what this platform offers, is the best option come 2015. Continuity of purpose and not just the overused and propagandist cliché of "change" muffled by some bruised interest groups. .

As expected, an avalanche of names have sprung up from different coffers, politically-minded groups and spurious political permutations, each rightly or otherwise, touting one or two these names as possible successors.

LAGOS - As 2015 Beckons…

Sayo Aluko

Come May 29, 2015, all things being equal, a new Governor will be sworn into office in the landmark state of Lagos. And, to say the least, the jostle for that mantle of service, has been massively intriguing, thanks and no-thanks to the many unnecessarily extensive, spurious and politically-motivated calculations and permutations going on in various coffers.
